Considering a Business Assessment?

By Emily Hall

“We don’t know what we don’t know.” We hear this all the time.

In our 10+ years of advising small and mid-sized architecture firms, CVG has spoken with thousands of firm leaders and completed custom business assessments for over 100 companies.

I’ve been part of many of these assessments. Looking back, what stands out most is how firm leaders feel at the end of the process. It’s as if a veil has been lifted – they are relieved to see their firm from a 360 perspective. Connections made between finance, marketing, operations, and culture illustrate how a few overlooked (or unaddressed) issues can impact the entire health of the firm. Typically, these are things that firm leaders are too busy to notice or have ignored because they don’t know how to deal with them.

OR we find best practice firms and delight in sharing that everything is humming along smoothly. In these cases, we offer suggestions for getting them to the next level of excellence.

Either way, the CVG business assessment is designed to:

  • Benchmark your firm against firms of similar sizes – not only with data but from our unique experience working with hundreds of firms

  • Align your goals with your actions

  • Identify what you should manage and prioritize

  • Uncover issues that you might not see, and help you solve them

Though the assessments are designed to have a stand-alone value (we want you to feel that the process was worth every penny regardless of our future working together) they often lead to a custom engagement with CVG. If we identify areas where we know CVG can have a positive impact, we’ll suggest ways we can help.

Lastly, size matters. We’ve worked with firms ranging in size from 2 - 75, but our sweet spot for assessments is firms between 10 - 30 people. We understand your limited resources, your culture, and your growth pains. We won’t suggest overblown corporate solutions. Promise.

Talk to us about your situation. Our typical assessment costs $7500. We can add additional staff and client surveys and interviews for a more in-depth assessment for $9500. Or we can provide a custom proposal to travel to your office and do on-site assessment work.

Every engagement starts with a free, confidential consultation call. Grab a spot directly on our calendar here.
